Back in October, fans of the SRT brand in general had sent in over 11,000 names for the blue 2014 SRT Viper (2013 model is pictured, also in blue). From those 11,000-plus titles, only three were chosen as finalists on Monday, and if you’re interested in voting, there are only four more days to do so, as voting runs from November 4 through November 10.
The three finalists are quite simple in name, though one is a clever nod to a popular type of marketing…or a popular type of video. SRT fans can choose from Competition Blue, Overtaking Blue and Viral Blue, and the winning color name will be revealed on Tuesday, November 12. And as a prize for choosing the winning name, the person who had suggested that name will get a trip to the 2014 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona race, and a meet-and-greet with the SRT Viper design team on race weekend itself.
A blue 2014 SRT Viper GTS is currently among the many Mopar vehicles on display at the 2013 SEMA show in Las Vegas. According to SRT President and CEO Ralph Gilles, the SRT Viper Color Contest “is a great opportunity for SRT brand enthusiasts to be creative, original and become part of Viper history, and what better place to see history in the making than the annual SEMA show.” He added that SEMA 2013 is “the perfect event” for SRT fans to “see their ideas come to life.” Other features of the 2014 SRT Viper being showcased at SEMA include special Mopar accessories for the car’s exterior and interior, such as a carbon fiber X-brace located in the engine compartment.
